The search is on for Victorians who are leading the way to a sustainable future with entries now open for the Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria Tidy Towns and Sustainable Cities awards.
Now in its 41st year, the 2023 Tidy Towns and Sustainable Cities Awards recognise, celebrate and share environmental achievements and strong community spirit amongst a range of applicants including community groups, education institutions, businesses and councils across Victoria.
These initiatives empower people, change behaviour, protect the environment, reduce waste, engage youth and indigenous communities, and promote community spirit and resiliency.
The awards program invites entries and shines a spotlight on the innovators and changemakers across 10 categories:
- Education
- Environment
- Energy
- Community
- Litter
- EPA Waste Reduction and Prevention
- Heritage and Culture
- Indigenous Culture
- Wellbeing
- Young Legend
Two awards within each of the ten categories will be presented: the Tidy Towns Award – for projects in regional and rural Victoria, and the Tidy Cities Award – for projects in metro and urban areas. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in Melbourne in October.
